- Konkan Railway- Journey through Hills,Tunnels & Backwaters
- Yatrigan Kripya Dhyan Dijiye🚆
Gokarna Popular as the less commercial option to Goa,the place has stunning beaches and even better hills. As famous bollywood movie Singham movie starring Ajay devgn and Kajal Agarwal whose shooting was done here it gained popularity after that.It is a small town located in Uttara Kannada district in North Karnataka approx 580 Km from Bengaluru & 620 Km from Mumbai on West Indian Coast and can be reached by Train and Buses from these places.
Our semester end exams got over and monsoon already started in SouthIndia we four started deciding to plan a short refreshing trip to either Pondicherry or Gokarna...and finally after deciding our budget and availability of tickets we decided to go Gokarna for three days.

Om beach

Finally we booked our tickets TO/FROM Gokarna by train one day prior to our journey. It was 16523 Bengaluru-Karwar Exp. I along with my friends Aditya,Bedi and Lavi started our journey next day at 8:30 pm from KSR Bengaluru City station. Our train started from Bengaluru at right time.We all were very excited for the short trip.We all were travelling by sleeper class after very long time but we realised that experiencing train journey in sleeper class is BEST that too during monsoon in SouthIndia where we are always sorrounded by the drizzling sound, sound of moving train, cool breeze, sound of train honking, experiencing weather and countryside beauty without any window barriers and lot more.

Konkan Region is so scenic that Me & Bedi can't take our eyes off the window |
We were so excited for the trip that we all didn't sleep till Mysore which crossed at midnight.
Next day our train reached Mangalore at 08:30am we had our breakfast there. Then after Mangalore rpicturesque green countryside, backwaters, tunnels & rivers started coming, our whole journey from Mangalore to Gokarna was blessed by monsoon rains. It was so nice experience.

Morning train masti |
As that train was basically for daily commuters between Bangalore-Mangalore/Udupi so after that almost 95% of train was vacant. Then at 14:00 hours we reached Gokarna almost 45 min behind schedule after 17 hours of travelling.
At station Autowallahs was demanding 250 bucks for covering distance of 10 Km to our hotel which was just infront of Gokarna Beach. But after tough bargaining he came down to Rs.180.

Evening at Gokarna Beach |
BEACH(BEST ESCAPE ANYONE CAN HAVE)
- PRATHAM DIWAS
As soon as we checked into our NimmuHouse hotel almost at 4 pm, we all quickly changed and went to Gokarna beach. It was cloudy and pouring and weather was so good that we decided to go our hotel back only after sunset. We roamed there for almost 2 hours and finally after it got dark we went to hotel after having our evening tea and snacks at beachside restaurant. "An Ocean breeze puts our mind at Ease"
At night we had our dinner at Pai hotel which served us Puri and Bhaji along with upma and we also ordered Masala dosa.It was only restaurant in vicinity which served good food. We had our Breakfast, lunch and dinner over there only after experiencing foods of various restaurant on Gokarna Town. Now after dinner our search for Beer started as it was a small temple town no bar or restaurant served Beer there. So on enquiring we found one liquor shop just behind bus stand and that shop was our next two day support🍻🙋.

Last night we all slept at around 01:00 am afterwatching Anaconda movie so we all woke up at 9 am and started our journey. We first had our breakfast at PAI HOTEL and started our trekking towards Kudle beach which was 1 Km from Gokarna Beach.

TRIMURTY |
Then after trekking and walking for almost half an hour we reached Kudle Beach which is least crowded and most popular among Foriegn Tourists(Russians,Israelis and Britishers). As during monsoon its raining and seas are also rough so Lifeguard at Kudle beach was not allowing anyone to enter sea,so after enjoying waves and getting soaked in rain we decided to move further to Om Beach which is famous for its Om shape beach. It was almost 1.5 Km from Kudle beach by walk and trek in between.

On way from Kudle beach to Om beach. Best rare scene where Land,Cloud and Sea Meet. |
It was really rough road and trekking was also quite tough for 700 metres. The rocks were so slippery that all of us slipped atleast once and on top of that it started raining heavily. But soon it stopped and weather became cool and comfortable to trek, had it been sunny it would have been a difficult task to trek under sun for full day. Finally walking up and down the hills we reached Om beach after 45 min. It was so damn scenic and picturesque that on reaching we fatafat went into sea and started playing disk throw and waves were also 6 feet high and we loved that.

Scene and View Set |
We were completely enjoying it. But after playing for 1 hour we all got exhausted and finally decided to have lunch at Namaste Cafe- Beach View restaurant at Om beach.

SCENES |
Having lunch at Namaste Cafe was different experience at all. Saamne Samundar ,Uper se Baarish and having Machhli with Beer and Girls with their BF's checking us out and we inturn checking them out and their BF's getting jealous AF......🆒🙋🍻.
We almost spent two hours there and it was 3:30 pm and we decided to return back to Gokarna Town. The raasta was same and it took us less time to trek down from there. The scene was same.

- TEESRA DIWAS
Finally it was sunny today and the weather was also clear and warm.
As we were in pure mare hue haalat me,we woke up late morning and decided to go to Mahabaleshwar Temple and Ganpati Temple in morning before having our breakfast. We went and did darshan.
I was amazed to see that in Mandir,Gents were not allowed if they were wearing even vests, means we need to go half naked in temple(Upper half). It was a first time experience for all of us.After that we had our breakfast and we went to beach again and started our masti as it was our last day there. We didnt realised that we havetrain in evening finally somehow at 1 pm we went hotel back and freshened up as our train was at 4:00 pm.
- Alvida Gokarna😢
As we reached Gokarna Road station we came to know that train was late by 45 min we decided to have egg puff and samosas as we didnt had lunch that evening.

Train at Mangalore Central |
As we knew that rail route between Subramanya Road and Sakleshpur is picturesque and stunning we waited for that till 11:30 pm and enjoyed that route. It was full of tunnels and waterfalls. For full 2 hours we were going thru dense forests and Pahadi Region. The way bridges and rail tracks were laid in such a remote area I salute to all Railway Engineers for maintaining those.
Atlast we arrived at Bangalore City station at 8:00 am next day.

BHAI LOG OF CHANDIGARH |
IT WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY AND REFRESHING TRIP AND WITH THESE RETARDS IT WAS AWESOME AND JABARDAST. WE ALL ARE AGAIN PLANNING A TRIP IN COMING MONTHS BETTER THAN THIS.
"Life was meant for Good Friends and Great Adventures"
- THIS IS NOT KASOL(WEED CAPITAL OF INDIA)
This is becoz we have been asked by a group of boys :-
"Bro aapke paas SCORE milega ya ass paas koi dealer jaante ho"
Weed is not allowed here, but bhang u can manage.Police personnels are pretty active here and will enquire you any time at beaches and will check your ID cards and checks your baggages...we were asked 2 times on beaches and our bags were thoroughly checked.Though you can carry BEER CANS with you any time.So see to this also.
- BUDGET FOR FUTURE TRAVELLERS
FOODS- Rs 1000
HOTEL- Rs 1000
OTHER EXPENSES- Rs 600
For people who all are planning a trip to Gokarna see to it as we went in off season and in weekdays so our expenses did'nt went above Rs. 3500 but it can go almost Rs. 5000 during peak season(Nov-March)..as hotel prices are increased during those days.Best and cheapest way to go is by train From Bengaluru,Mengaluru,Mumbai,Goa,Pune,Kochi.
Best time(according to me)--JUNE TO OCTOBER(As there will be no sun only cloudy and weather will be cool and comfortable for trekking)
Good one
